		<description>I love reading that one of my all-time favorite authors, moves between genres this way. I was commenting a few days ago that I regularly &quot;cannibalize&quot; my bad poems for prose. (For years, I was more inclined to write poems than to maintain a straightforward journal; the poems are thus my only record of certain periods, and so are useful, even while I find them hideous.)

That Alexie, of all the great talents in this world, might &quot;write 150 pages in three or four days, and... scrap it all because it’s terrible, or it’ll become four lines of a poem&quot; is strangely comforting.</description>
