January 18, 2011 § Leave a comment
Submissions for the annual Gulf Coast Prizes in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry are now open.
This year we have raised the prize money to $1,500 for fiction, nonfiction, and poetry winners, plus $250 for two runners-up in each genre. That’s a total of $6,000 in prizes. The winners will be published in Gulf Coast 24.1, to be released in fall 2011. Just for entering, you’ll get a one-year subscription to Gulf Coast, and all entries will be considered for publication.
You can submit to our contests online now. View our contest guidelines and send us your work! The 2011 Poetry Prize will be judged by Ilya Kaminski, the Creative Nonfiction/Lyric Essay Prize will be judged by John D’Agata, and the Fiction Prize will be judged by Frederick Reiken. See our contest page to learn more about this year’s judges.
The contest deadline is March 15, 2011.
