No Pedestrian Traffic: A Journal Halts

March 22, 2011 § 2 Comments

There are too few literary journals devoted specifically to nonfiction, and even fewer focused on the classic personal essay, so we are sorry to see The Pedestrian closing shop (perhaps temporarily.)  The business model for literary journals is a difficult puzzle to solve, and that seems to be the undoing here.  The journal was short-lived, but lovely.  From the website:

Thanks to everyone who supported The Pedestrian this past year. Regrettably, the journal is going on hiatus until more resources can be found to support it. During the hiatus content will continue to be posted to the blog and The Pedestrian‘s Facebook page.
